| | | 0 items | | | | | The CMX-40 controller is used in all lower speed (1500 lpm and lower) P5000 printer models. The P5220D uses the CFX controller. Both P5224D and P5220S use the PPC controller (see next paragraph). The CMX, CFX and PPC controllers have the capacity to handle complex applications found in today's workplace environments. All P5000 printer models have a re-designed hammer-bank cover assembly of the 'single piece' type. The Printronix P5220S and P5224D line matrix impact printers are part of the P5XXX line matrix printer family. The printers incorporate Printronix System Architecture (PSA) and a variable speed shuttle with a wide range of horizontal and vertical densities. The P5220S. and P5224D printers have the P5XXX family appearance but utilizes a new configuration of some hardware modules, including platen, ribbon drive, paper transport, the shuttle and dual row hammerbank. The P5220 uses the CFX printer controller and an integrated power supply. The P5224D uses the PPC printer controller and an integrated power supply. These modules may not be retrofitted in the field with other members of the P5XXX family. The Printronix P5220S line matrix impact printer is part of the P5XXX line matrix printer family.
