Printek Case Support Gas Spring Set

The Printek Case Support Gas Spring Set is a repair part used on the FormsPro 4600 and FormsPro 4603 Wide Carriage Dot Matrix Printers.

The procedure to replace the Case Support Gas Spring Set is:

1. Unplug the power cord and disconnect any host interface cables.
2. Open the printer case.
3. If the printer is a 4603, use the tractor position adjustment tool and move the tractors to the front of the printer.
4. On a soft surface, carefully tilt the opened printer up onto its left side.
5. Remove the left spring using the hex wrench supplied with the tool kit. On the upper left spring mount, hold the mounting bushing with a wrench to prevent it from loosening when the screw is removed. This is not necessary at the other positions.
6. When installing the new spring, make sure the rod end of the spring is mounted to the printer base.
7. Carefully tilt the printer onto its right side and replace the right spring in the same manner.
