Printek Case to Base Hinge, FormsPro 4xxx

The Printek Case to Base Hinge is a repair part for the FormsPro 4600 and the FormsPro 4603 Wide Carriage Dot Matrix Printers. The same hinges are also used on the older models of the FormsPro Printers, FP 4000, FP 4003, FP 4300, FP 4500 and FP 4503.

The replacement procedure is:

1. Unplug the power cord.
2. Disconnect the host interface cable(s).
3. Open the printer case.
4. On a soft surface, carefully tilt the opened printer up onto its right side.
5. From the back of the printer, remove the four screws that fasten the left hinge to the case and base and remove the hinge.
6. Install the new left hinge.
7. Remove the two screws that fasten the right hinge to the base.
8. Remove the three screws on the inner portion of the right hinge and remove the hinge.
9. Install the inner portion of the right hinge.
10. Install the two screws in the back base portion of the hinge.
11. Place the printer back down on the base.
